Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

TickerRisk ("we", "us") operates the website tickerrisk.com, a research tool for options traders. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@tickerrisk.com.

2. Data We Collect

Account data. If you create an account: your email address, an optional display name, and a securely hashed password (we cannot read your password). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google — never your Google password.

Usage data. Pages viewed, features clicked, tickers scanned, session duration, referrer source, and approximate technical context (browser type, IP address). We use this to understand how the product is used and to improve it.

Trial & quota tracking. To operate the free 24-hour trial and prevent abuse, we store a random token in a cookie and record the IP address it first appeared from, together with a timestamp.

Payment data. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep only your subscription status and Stripe customer reference.

Emails you send us. If you contact us or submit feedback, we keep the message and your email address so we can reply.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

• tr_anon (cookie) — anonymous trial token, used to track your free 24-hour access window.
• tr_token (browser local storage) — your login session token, kept so you stay signed in.
• Session id (browser session storage) — short-lived id used to measure session length; deleted when you close the tab.
• Google tags — we use Google Ads / Analytics tags (gtag.js) to measure ad campaign performance and sign-ups. Google may set its own cookies; see Google's privacy policy.

4. How We Use Your Data

• Provide and operate the service (scans, watchlists, alerts, billing)
• Send transactional email: password resets, alert notifications you set up, and important account or trial notices
• Send product updates if you opted in to our email list (you can unsubscribe anytime)
• Measure and improve the product, and attribute sign-ups to marketing channels
• Prevent abuse (rate limiting, trial-bypass detection, security monitoring)

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for third-party advertising audiences.

5. Third-Party Processors

• Stripe — payment processing
• Google — sign-in with Google (optional), Ads/Analytics measurement
• Hostinger — server hosting and email delivery

Each processor only receives the data needed for its function and is bound by its own privacy terms.

6. Data Retention

Account data is kept while your account exists. Usage analytics are kept in aggregate form. Anonymous-trial records are kept only as long as needed to operate the trial fairly. Backups of the service database are retained for 7 days on a rolling basis. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from the live database; it may persist in encrypted backups for up to 7 further days before rolling off.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the EU GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent for marketing email at any time

To exercise any of these, email info@tickerrisk.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days.

8. Security

Passwords are stored hashed with bcrypt. All traffic is encrypted with TLS (HTTPS). Server access is restricted to key-based authentication, and we apply rate limiting and intrusion-prevention measures. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable industry-standard precautions.

9. Children

TickerRisk is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date below.
